Well it looks like we will be downsizing and moving, AAARGH!

It's doubtful that I'll be able to move my TREE mill and 16 x 60 Lathe to the new digs.

So it's time to fix my mill drill as I WILL be able to move it.

The head casting is broken due to my having installed a very heavy DC PM motor to give me variable speed (long before vfds).

Ooops! It appears that I need to assign URLs to the pics I'd like to post, since I don't know how to do that, the whole purpose of this post is lost.

Anyway once the head casting is welded I'll be installing a much lighter 1-1.5 hp 3 ph motor and powering it with a VFD.

Sorry about the lack of pics. If anyone can tell me how to post pics please pm me.

you can't hire a rollback truck to scoop the lathe and mill up and transport them? what model Tree do you have?

bunkclimber, it's not a case of transporting them, it's space and access in the "new digs".
The Tree is a 2UVR.

Anyway the problem in my original post was how do I post pics ?

I noticed the same thing, was just about to pose the same question, thought it might have just been somehow at my end.

Gator, I'm sorry my pics didn't show up. Pics aren't the only problem I'm (we're?) having with this site.

I will probably be offering the 16x60 lathe and the Tree mill for sale.

In the "recent posts" column Lincoln's post (mill drill repair) still shows as the most recent post

It's too bad you're so far away Steve, I'd be interested otherwise.

The 2UVR Tree is the mill ive been looking for..NS Canada isnt easy to get to for me,and I'd have
customs import duty to pay on it bringing it back into the USA plus 30hrs on the road

The mill was made in the US so there would not be any duty. Still a long drive in the winter.

I've never been to NS, I'm surprised, just looked it up and shows it's about a 19 hour trip. Not as bad as I thought.

Guys, the
"I will probably be offering the 16x60 lathe and the Tree mill for sale."
depends entirely on the space available in our next home.

We haven't found anything to our liking yet so we haven't even listed our present home.
Maybe by the time we move the "recent posts" column on this site will be working ???

last Tree 2UVRC I looked at was a Hurricane Katrina survivor, marinated for sure..good price loaded on my truck, but god knows what was wrong with it after that soaking,so I didnt go for it..The Tree mills use a special collet setup, but once you have a set you're good to go.Built heavier than a Bridgeport mill and the power knee is nice too. What make 16" lathe do you have, any photos of the two?

Bunk, The 16x60 is a Lux-Matter. Never heard of it before I got it, or since.
