Hey, happy NY!

I was very active here in 2008/09 but a few months ago it seemed like the site was slowed down a lot. Anything I should know or is it swinging like chopper blades again?

This is about a planed extension or remorphe of a project concocted right in these skunkworks back in the day.

On airplanes there is a thing called a hard-point, like on a wing where a few ribs might be reinforced so you can hang stuff on there, heavy stuff, you know :-)

I'm wondering how I would cannibalize such a hard-point onto a Dodge Ram-3500 somewhere about mid-height in front of the radiator but just behind the grill to complement the front tow hooks making a 3-point attachment setup. The idea would be for the vehicle to remain totally street legal when the 3-point is not in use, the cops here are VERY strict, you get a ticket for a tow hook that doesn't have a trailer attached to it! I'd want to hang up to maybe 2500 lbs on there. You can guess what it will be.

As a guess I would say round hay bale?--sno-blower?,--NO wait a machine gun!!! YA? LOL!!!!
We got jackass laws here too bout hitches.
I think I would incorporate a sno-lpow frame and hitch from there. The newer blade mounts are quick-tach and not too bad to handle.
This site is on a "here but" basis.
Still a few of us on here! thanks; sonny

Good to hear from you fitterski.
The site has a couple issues, main one being loading/sharing pictures, I personally have resorted to adding a link to my pictures on G+, Tom here manages to get his pictures on his posts via Flickr....most others don't seem to be working on anything or have give up posting..I'm not sure which.
Only other issues are the resent posts, calendar etc doesn't update and I believe new people can not join the forum. A number of us have tried to contact the owner of the site with out success.
As to your idea of some type of 3pt hitch for the front of a truck, I would agree with Sonny on a snow blade type setup. Personally I built one on my older truck where the "horn" for lifting the blade fit into the bumper via a pair of hitch receivers.
Sure hope you stick around and share your ideas and progress.
If you can't weld well.....weld lots...

how to post pictures from flickr

Click the pic from your photostream you want to post.

Click the little Share arrow at the bottom right of the pic. It's not labeled till you hold your pointer over it... I hate that, hieroglyphics...

In the box that pops up, click BBCode and you can choose what size you want the pic to be. It'll remember which options you choose and they'll already be picked next time you post.

Then right click on the highlighted text in the center field and copy it.

Then go back to your post draft and right click and paste that text into your message where you want it to be.
