very nice job. if you make the dimpled side longer by alittle bit.. why not cut it flush to make a temporary "smooth" head.. or if you really want some fun.. use a wide belt sander.

Couldn't run the video because of dial up, but wondering what you use a 7 pound lead hammer for?? We had them in the shop for chucking parts in lathes etc, but they were only a couple pounds at most.

I am working on a smaller one for a wood working friend and a bullet casting friend. As far as 7 pounds the answer is auto work like removing axles and large 8 lug truck rims. also the removal or tierods with out damaging thread.

Trust me once you make one you will use it every weakend for something.

I sold one to a carney when asked why he wanted it he answered to pound in wood tent stakes.

I can see the value in auto/truck/tractor work to prevent thread damage. If you have any stills to post, I'd like to see them because I've got a bunch of wheel weights.

Its a 30 ft sail boat worth 26,000 up and running right it blew out the engine and tranny at the same time and needed 15,000 in parts. Plus what ever else along the way. Time to scrap it out and cut the loses.

and batteries around here are 5 bucks a piece
