Got started on the quick attach. This spans some of last week up to today.

Burned these plates out for the attach and the square plate.

Drilling holes where the pins holes will be. Inserted a roll pin to hold it all together while other work was done.

Squared the square plate on the mill. Cut the angles on the quick attach plate on the old mill.

Cut 30 degree and 45 degree angles on these plates.

Cut 4" tube to length and squared ends on the mill.

Got one slot cut in the tube. This is where the latch pin will slide through.

Other pieces I cut out. Most still have to be machined.

All this will eventually make this, and be mounted on the end of the loader arms.

How many hours do you think you have on your machine?

Got the slot on the other end done last night. A really slow process without power feed. This shows the steel that will make the latch pins siting in the slots.

Gator, nice work on the quik-tach. grin
Only one point of difference between your design and the one I have here, the square tubing should tie into both ears of the cylinder/loader arm attachment points.
It helps to spread the load
Dan.

hard to say gator,it gets used for about an hour now and then, pulling pallets off a trailer then stacking them..occasional use for about an hour tops. Most of the time spent idling. The locker in the rear axle keeps breaking axle shafts..too much weight, traction and directional changes.Im thinking about making sleeves to weld onto the axle shafts(ie:splints)to spread the torsional forces past the welded areas of the shafts..not enuf time right now to work on it

Yeah looking at it now the tube should be extended as you say. I think I will cut a piece and weld it into the space between the plates. This will be about as good. Most of the load is spreading through the angle at the top. Here's the progress.

Got it one pass welded this morning. Maybe another pass tomorrow.

even if you don't extend the tube, find an open spot in between the mast plates and fit in a piece of angle or round stock and weld it in.I think you have plenty of steel there to withstand the torsional force, especially with the square crosstube.

I have a piece to weld in between the the arms. It will go twoard the bottom and serve as a step when entering and exiting the machine. The piece is 3 x 6 x 1/4 same as the arms. I am thinking of welding it in at the angle the arms will be sitting at when the bucket is down all the way. That way it will be a level step.

I think I will go ahead and extend the piece as recommended by Dan. I don't think it can hurt, although it will take away 5 lbs of lifting capacity...

Round is considerably stronger in torsion than square tube, but not as good for a step I guess.

you might think about some flat bar welded in on edge, multiple sections next to one another-a step and something to scrape the mud off your boots with all in one shot

Welded in a piece between the supports on both sides. It wouldn't line up perfect due to the weld on the bottom but its pretty close.

Got one slide shaft done. The other is done with the lathe work. Have to mill the sides off leaving. 5 in the middle. Cut a slot and tap a hole in the end.

Here it is assembled.

I will have to cut the spring off a couple coils. It gets fully compressed before the slot travel is taken up.

I got to looking at the quick attach and thought it was leaning forward to much. After puzzling on it for a few I looked at the model again. I had originally designed the tilt around a surplus center cylinder. I found similar one at baileynet but they were 1" longer when collapsed. I never changed my cylinder length in the model, so I made the linkage too long. After studying in it for a few, I think I can take them out and shorten them about 2..5" and get back to a good bucket rollback when lowered.
