While cruising craigslist I found a new project ... a Bolens 943 Articulator. It was built in Sweden for Bolens sometime in the 1980s. It has a turning radius of around 22" with a front mounted 42" mowing deck.

I paid $250 for it with a blown engine, yeah I know I paid a premium but it was what I wanted and I had the cash from selling my old Toro Grounds Master.

You know me, if it articulates I can't resist it.

The engine cover is messed up as well.

The engine has a bit of an issue, and hole in the side. No big issue, I have engines in inventory just need to find the right one.

It is cable steered. The steering shaft has a pulley at the end, a couple other pulleys ensure proper alignment with the large disk seen at the articulation joint.

I'll get pictures of the linkage once I remove the engine.

I went through my "inventory and didn't find an engine I was happy with. I had a 12HP Briggs or a 20HP twin Briggs. The 12 is an old L-head and the 20 is a little big, so ...

I found a Weed Eater riding mower with no hood for $60 and snapped it up. The engine is a 13HP Tecumseh Enduro XL/C OHV with a DOM of 9146D which I think is May 26, 1999.

It starts right up runs smooth and quiet. Actually the mower works fine but I just want the engine and for $60 who cares!
